Harvest Festival 2009

The Gardens on Spring Creek is a nice little kept secret here in Fort Collins. We went to their third annual Harvest Festival and strolled through the gardens, listened to the live music and checked out the artisan vendor marketplace. We bought some delicious Honey Cranberry-Apricot Oatmeal cookies from the Rouxful Gourmet. Yum.

Little Miss Messy

Addison is notorious for getting dirty. This little monkey can make anything dirty. Just try her, she will show you how it's done. Rick called me outside to take this picture one afternoon. Addison had been playing in the firepit coals/soot. When she realized she had been spotted, she jumped on her bike hoping for a quick get away. Oops, she got caught!

Girl's Night In

Rick and Mcayden were out of state, so we enjoyed a little "girl time"! My friend, Heather and her little girl, Josie came over for a Girl's Night. We had dinner, painted our toenails sparkley pink, dressed our little ones up with fairy wings and played. It was so much fun having time with them. We kept commenting on how quiet and calm it was without our rambunctious boys running around. It was a treat--they are so cute. They loved having their toenails painted.

Say Cheesey!

For my friend Angie's birthday, we went shopping. All day. Just the girls. Too much fun. We had a blast picking out the ugliest clothes we could find, trying them on and then taking pictures. Seriously, anyone who buys clothes like this is crazy. Although, I think Angie could have gotten away with the zebra-like striped pants and 80's bow top.
Thanks for the FUN day of shopping, chatting and laughing, Birthday Girl!

Preschool Here I Come!

Mcayden started preschool today! Wednesday we went in for a one hour "intro" day, but today was the real deal. He's going to school three days a week for 3-hour sessions now, and totally loves it. We are really happy with the school we chose. They teach based on Core curriculum and do really fun crafts and follow creative/educational themes.
Before heading to school for his big day, we met some friends in Old Town, ate pizza at the plaza and my friend and I watched as the kids played in the water and got soaking wet--it was a great start to a fun day in preschool!

Labor Day at Flaming Gorge

I often forget to take my camera around with me when we meet up with our family. We are so busy doing fun things I completely forget until we're off having fun and my camera is quietly sitting alone somewhere. Well, this trip to Flaming Gorge was no exception. My camera did not make it to the boat parade or fireworks show, the rafting trip or on bike ride. No, it sat alone once again, at camp, while we were out playing.
After driving for six hours, we arrived late in the evening and set up camp using our flashlights. We camped with Rick's parents and two of his sister's families. The kids were happy to see their cousins and grandparents and played like crazy people. The next couple of days were spent river rafting, riding the boats out on the Gorge, playing in the water, eating, fishing and going to bed late.

After days of playing, we packed up and headed home for some R&R. Ha. ha. Addison was quite the little helper as we packed. She helped take the tent down, put the stakes in the bag and carry things to the truck. What a QT. It was a long drive home and luckily the kids passed out in the car and slept a good hour or two. We were all tired, but couldn't have thought of a funner way to spend Labor Day weekend then on a lake, camping with our family!
