A Legend

On Memorial Day, we visited the grave of Jimi Hendrix. Jimi Hendrix is considered one of the greatest and most influential guitarists in rock history. He was born in Seattle and although he said he wanted to be buried in England, he was buried here in Wa. Hendrix, his dad and his grandmother are buried at this site.
One interesting tid-bit about Hendrix is that he was left-handed and played his guitar upside down (not right-side-up, as on the grave stone).
Mcayden was a cheerful cheezer for me as I took a couple of pics.

Duck Boat

We decided to be tourists for the day and went on the Seattle Duck Boats--"Ride the Ducks of Seattle". After we told Mcayden what we were going to do, he talked about riding on the "duck boat" all morning. Addison had a little melt down once we arrived in Seattle. I was worried she was going to cry (scream) the whole time, but thankfully she fell asleep and slept for most of the ride.

Mcayden & Rick with their "quackers".
Seattle has a lot of fun attractions and places to visit. There is a lot of artwork throughout the city. The tourguide pointed out places to eat, statistics about coffee drinking and other little tid bits. I had hoped to learn more about the city and its history, but this tour guide was more into having us listen to clips of music and guess what songs they were. Debbie and I went on the D.C. Ducks and learned a ton about the city, so I guess I had hoped it would be more similar to that. It was fun though. We're glad we went. It was such a great day to do it!

Mcayden was excited to go out on Lake Union. He liked when he would get sprayed with a little water. It is really beautiful. There were a lot of kayakers out on the lake--Mcayden waved at ALL of them. The weather was perfect and what a great view of the city.

This is the house from the movie "Sleepless in Seattle". It is currently up for sale--$2.5 million. Interested? The tour guide gave us the run down on how much it would cost to buy it, roughly. The docking fees, taxes, and monthly payments were as much as buying a whole compact car each month! The people who live there bought it for $800,000 about 15 years ago. They will be making a pretty penny selling it.

Future Tattoo Artist?

So, I'm on the computer and Mcayden is playing next to me, drawing on his art easel...or so I thought. I looked over to find him drawing all over his arm. The conversation went something like this...
Me: "Mcayden, what are you doing?"
Mcayden: "Mommy, I'm practicing for when I am a tattoo artist."
No, he didn't really say that--he just smiled and proudly showed me his arm. I couldn't get mad at him--this is what kids do, right? At least he wasn't drawing on the walls!

Grandma Shay's Visit

Rick's mom flew up to spend some time with our family and help out. We had such a good time! Here she is holding Addison for the first time. She was a BIG help and the kids loved playing with her and being spoiled--it's what grandmas do best!

Grandma Shay has the touch. She knew just what to do to calm Addison down and get her to sleep. It was nice to have help with her during the day, especially when Addison was having a rough day.
Mcayden had a blast playing with Gma at the park, near our house. We went down there a couple of times this week. We had a picnic and played frisby. The weather was beautiful!
There is a beach area where you can play in the sand and swim and Mcayden enjoyed splashing in the water and scooping the sand with his shovel.

Hot Summer Sun

We have had some really beautiful summer weather this week. While the girls went shopping, Rick and Mcayden had a pool party in the back yard. Rick filled up the pool and the party started! He is such a fun daddy! Mcayden had a blast--as you can see.

The BIG BRO

Mcayden is a great big brother. He has been just awesome with Addison. We have been very lucky. He is such a goof ball--here he is playing around in her carseat.

Mcayden loves to lay next to Addison and talk to her. He layed down next to her the other day and said, "Ahh, cute." He is so cute with her. He always gives her a hug and kiss goodnight.

Bath Time

Addison loved her first bath! She is a jacuzzi girl. We bathed her in her little tub and Mcayden in the big tub. Mcayden had fun playing with his toy giraffe.

Baby Addison

Thank goodness for moms/grandmas! My mom has been here for a week and a half (we wish she could stay longer) helping us out. She has been a HUGE help and the kiddos have really enjoyed playing with their grammie. Rick and I have loved being free of doing laundry, cooking and cleaning! We love you, Grammie B! You are WONDERFUL! We miss you already!

Our little Addison. She is such a sweet baby!

Addison's Pictures

A local photographer, and friend, took some incredible pictures of Addison when she turned two weeks old. We will have them in a couple of weeks, but if you want a sneek peek, you can go to her blog and see a picture of Addison--Rick and I are in the background. We're excited to see all the pictures and get some for our home. We'll be getting some family pictures taken when Addison is just a little older and will share those once we do. Here is a link to Carrie's blog.
