Baby Addison

Thank goodness for moms/grandmas! My mom has been here for a week and a half (we wish she could stay longer) helping us out. She has been a HUGE help and the kiddos have really enjoyed playing with their grammie. Rick and I have loved being free of doing laundry, cooking and cleaning! We love you, Grammie B! You are WONDERFUL! We miss you already!

Our little Addison. She is such a sweet baby!

Addison's Pictures

A local photographer, and friend, took some incredible pictures of Addison when she turned two weeks old. We will have them in a couple of weeks, but if you want a sneek peek, you can go to her blog and see a picture of Addison--Rick and I are in the background. We're excited to see all the pictures and get some for our home. We'll be getting some family pictures taken when Addison is just a little older and will share those once we do. Here is a link to Carrie's blog.

The Tulip Festival- Mount Vernon, WA

We went to the tulip festival, in Mt. Vernon--it was beautiful! It was the perfect day to go too-no crowds and great weather.

Mcayden wanted to ride on the "train"/tractor. It was fun riding around the tulip field. We were able to get some great photos of the flowers from up there!

Mcayden had fun splashing in the puddles--thank goodness for galashas!

Introducing Addison Debbie Schofield

Addison was "technically" six days over due, but to Rick and I, she was three weeks over due! I was induced on the 16th to help things along. She was born at 9:58p.m. on April 16 (Mcayden was born at the exact same time!). She weighed 8lbs 14oz. and was 20 1/2 in. long. (We were surprised she was so big, considering Mcayden weighted 7lbs 2oz.) She has blue eyes and HAIR! What a beautiful little girl! I am happy to have her on the OUTSIDE!
I went "natural" and am recovering well. I'm really thankful there were no complications and I was able to do it without medication. We had a wonderful midwife and labor & delivery nurse. Rick was awesome throughout the labor and helped every step of the way. We are so happy she's here!

Mcayden was so cute about meeting his little sister. He pointed out her eyes, ears, etc. Addison "gave him" a present and he was so excited about it (a Thomas the Tank Engine DVD and Chinese dragon train car). When he and Rick left, he said, "Bye Baby, Bye Mommy", it was so sweet.

Our family--a beautiful new addition!

Standing outside our recovery room. We are so thankful Addison is finally here and is healthy! Overlake Hospital was really good to us.We were discharged on the 18th and headed home...

Saturday in Sunny Seattle

It was a beautiful day in WA--a nice 70 degrees! Rick took us over to Seattle, where we rented a canoe at the UW. It was an absolutely gorgeous day-- and it was really fun being able to spend it together like that, on the water!
Mcayden loved seeing all the boats and was excited to ride in the canoe.
I love that Rick enjoys doing this kind of thing with our family. He makes it so fun. He paddled the whole time and liked it!
When we went to pay for the canoe, the girl saw how pregnant I am and was like, "WOW! I've never seen anyone so pregnant ride in a canoe!! Are you okay?!" It was funny. I have to say, it wasn't very comfortable and I couldn't really move, but I'm so glad we went.
"Boats!"

Yard Work...Our Little Helper

We (meaning Rick) did some major yard work/clean up today. We have this multi-level hill in the back that was in need of some major TLC. We were out there working for maybe 20 mintues when I had to sit down and play cheerleader (it helped that I had a phone call). It was fun watching Mcayden help. He put on his Daddy's gloves and got right to work!

No Baby Yet...

Rick and I were both POSITIVE our baby girl would be born by the end of March... but she hasn't come yet! The original due date has really messed with us! We thought things were close when we had to go to the hospital and I was dialated to a three, with strong cramps and contractions...Nope. False Labor. Not fun.
My sister, Debbie, gave me some good advice. Just think she's coming April 6, that way I won't be wondering if every cramp or contraction I feel is "it" and I won't feel disappointed when it's not the real thing. She's so smart.
Rick and I are really excited for the baby to come--she is "due" next week, on April 10, but we're still crossing our fingers that she will come before then. We'll keep you posted.
