Happy Trails...8 Years

Rick and I were first introduced to each other in our highschool cafeteria. We never would have guessed that chance meeting would eventually change the rest of our lives. The thing we remember most about meeting is that we both had burgendy-dyed hair. We were both dating other people at the time, but I thought he was cute. It wasn't until two years after that initial meeting we went on our first date. I was attending USU and needed to find a date. Brian wasn't home, so I called Rick and he said yes. (Rick smiles about that now and says, "I'm so glad Brian wasn't home."). Awww.
After dating for seven months, Rick went on an LDS mission to Detroit, Michigan. The following year, I went on a mission to Ribeirao Preto, Brazil. After I got home, we dated and were married a year later, in the LDS Bountiful, Utah temple.
Now eight years, two kids, nine moves and three states later, we are even more thankful we found each other and feel very blessed to be married. I feel so lucky. Happy Anniversary and Cheers to our next 100+ years!

This year our anniversary just snuck up on us! On Sunday (the day before our anniversary) my friend offered to watch our kids overnight, so we could do something "romantical". Sooo nice. So, on Monday evening, we went on a bike ride on the Blue Sky Trail, which connects the Devil's Backbone Open Space to Horsetooth Mountain park. It was beautiful. We even saw a deer bounding through the meadow infront of us. We biked for almost six miles and then headed home, changed, picked up dinner and went to a drive in! It was so much fun! We felt like teenagers again.

Meet Tartaruga

(Pronounced "Tort-a-roo-ga"--Portuguese for turtle. )

But, we call her "Ruga" for short. We got our little turtle about two weeks ago and just love her. She is such a sweet turtle (yes, turtles can be sweet) and the kids just think she is the coolest. She's a red-eared slider and is 10 years old. She loves fruit, swimming and running around on the grass. (That sounds a bit like a singles ad.) At night, Mcayden will kiss her (by kissing the glass, or blowing her a kiss) and gives her a hug too (by hugging the tank)--it's adorable.

Deal-e-o!

This is one of my latest BARGAIN finds! I was at Savers and saw this Pottery Barn Kids rug. I got it for 4 BUCKS! It was a little dirty, but nothing spot cleaning and a good vacuuming couldn't fix. I looked online and this same rug costs $199 new. I know, "Get out of town!" FOUR bucks, baby!

Baby Blessing

We drove to UT last weekend to visit our family and be there for our baby niece's blessing. It was a short trip, but we were so glad we went. It was nice being there for this special occasion and spending time with both families. Isn't Savannah darling? I was lucky enough to get a little photo shoot with the cutie pie. So fun.

Piggy Tails

I love that A's hair is long enough to put in pig tails! It is so much fun having a little girl!

Here she is soaking up time with Grandpa Frank.

Splish Splash

We have had so much fun with our friends this Spring. Heather & her hubby also have two kids, Cooper & Josie. It's has been so fun hanging out with them. We love it!
This is Mcayden & his buddy, Cooper playing in the pool, in our back yard. Rick hooked up the hose to water inside, so they got to play in really warm water. After dinner & playing for a while, we gave them baths, in the pool! It was perfect. Then into their jammies and ready for bed.
