Not Much to Say

I haven't been blogging much lately. I feel like I haven't had much to say.
Life has been busy, as usual. I have been interviewing for a great job. Just had my fourth interview today and should know by the end of the week.
The kids are doing great. Mcayden loves preschool and I love seeing his cute art projects and hearing him singing new songs. Today he talked a lot about Jesus Christ (on the way to school)and asked me a million questions. I feel blessed to know enough that I could answer most of them. I'm glad I grew up with religion in my life and that my kids know there is a God watching over them.
Addison is talking more and more. She also sings the alphabet song and "E-I-E-I-O" daily. I adore hearing her sweet voice. She is so awesome.
Rick has been doing a lot of work for our friend who is a realestate agent. He has been working on the yards and the remodels. He has been keeping very busy.
Every day we take care of our friend's dog and cat-- the kids just love them. Addison used to be a little afraid of the dog, but she's getting much more comfortable with her. She is one of the sweetest dogs ever.
Rick and I are going on a late date tonight, so I have to run. I'll let you know about the job!

Why I'm Tired

I called my mom the other day and left her a message, telling her why I'm so tired. Having young, busy, talkative kids is a big culprit.
Here is an example of how one of the many conversations with my little "almost four-year old" goes.
me: Oh no, I lost my earring!
M: You lost your earring?
me: Yes. (sigh)
M:Where is it?
me: I don't know, it fell out somewhere
M: Where?
me: I don't know
M: Is it lost?
me: Yes.
M:When it fell out it got lost?
me: Yep. It got lost.
M:Can you find it?
me: I don't think so. It must have fallen out in one of the stores we went to today.
M: It fell out in one of the stores? That's why it's lost?
me: Yep.
M: What store is it lost in?
me: I don't know. That's why it's lost.
M: It's lost in the store?....

This conversation makes me tired just typing it up! Are you feeling tired too?
Just one small example of many question/answer sessions we have each day.

Counting Sheep

Since Rick has been gone I haven't been sleeping much. I wake up every hour or so. Wide awake I squeeze my eyes shut and order myself back to sleep. With only partial success. I'll sleep for an hour. Maybe two. Then I'm awake again. I don't think I've counted sheep before. Actually what has helped me sleep in the past is to picture Snoopy infront of a yellow backdrop. Snoopy was always really boring to me as a child. But even that isn't working. I might have to give the sheep a try.
I've never really slept well without Rick beside me. Even when he's working late or up watching the Late Late Show, I toss and turn until I know he's there. Even though he snores like a bear with a serious sinus infection, I sleep better when he's by my side.

So, for the last two weeks it has been like I'm sleepwalking until about 10a.m. Mcayden bounces into my room chattering away a little after 7a.m. He joyfully tells me the sun is up and it's time to get out of bed. If only breakfast could make itself. At least he's a morning person.
Rick may be home this weekend. A short visit. Hopefully I'll get some restful sleep with him here and put off counting sheep a little longer.

Christmas Wishes

The note Mcayden (I mean Rudolph) left Santa. He asked Santa to do everything he could do to give presents to Rudolph. He wants presents "no rocks".

Abby loved her new toys the kids picked out for her. As well as the wrapping paper.

Happy kids!

Mcayden really wanted a Polar Express train this year. He would describe it in detail any time he was asked. So when Christmas morning came, as he opened his gifts he would comment, "It's not a polar express train." Although he was happy about some of his other toys, he kept asking where his train was. After we opened all the presents, I went "to check on the laundry" and saw a huge bin in the office with a bow on it--Mcayden ran into the room, opened the lid and started jumping up and down, "It's a Polar Express train!!" Thank you Santa (aka Grammy B) for making his one Christmas wish come true.
Addison had fun ripping the paper from packages and holding her new doll and playing with her other toys (as well as Mcayden's toys).
Our kids were very blessed this year by family, friends and our generous Secret Santas. It was amazing and SO appreciated. Thank you!
We had our delicious traditional Christmas breakfast (thanks to Rick) and later enjoyed a nice Christmas dinner (china and all--even Mint Dazzle for dessert) with our good friends and their two kids. It was a beautiful Christmas day.
Merry Christmas!
