Craven Farms-Snohomish, WA

We went to Craven Farms for the third year! It was so fun. Mcayden really enjoyed running along in the pumpkin fields and pointing out the tractors. We enjoyed pumpkin donuts, fresh apple cider and corn on the cob--Yum! It is a lot of fun taking Mcayden to things like this because he's older now and is able to really have fun and enjoy it.

They have different "scenes" made out of pumpkins and this year they even had pumpkin pirates. It is a great farm and a fun family tradition for us!

Hearing the Baby's Heartbeat

Yesterday we had our second "baby appointment" and got to hear the baby's heartbeat again. It is so amazing to think there is a little person in there! Somedays I wonder if I REALLY just have a bad case of the flu...but after hearing the heartbeat it makes me remember why having "the flu" for nine months is worth it (although it doesn't really make it easier).
We set up our appointment for the Ultrasound! Yes, we're going to find out what we're having. We should find out on Novemember 6. I think it's a girl and Rick won't commit to saying what he thinks it may be. Either way, we will be so happy! We are just thankful to be pregnant and to have another child in our family.

Heart Walk 2007

October 6, 2007~We participated in the American Heart Association Heart Walk this year by walking 3.2 miles to raise money for the cause. Safeco was one of the top three national fundraisers! It was a really fun thing to do as a family and Mcayden's first volunteer opportunity! :)

New-New-New

Rick will be starting a new job on Monday, Mcayden will be going to a new babysitter (his former babysitter) and we are looking for a new (larger)house! Lots of "new" happening in our lives. It has been stressful and we had to make a conscious effort to tackle one thing at a time and trust it will all work out. We're pretty excited about Rick's job. It will be the first time (I think EVER) that Rick will work M-F and have weekends off. It's just crazy! We are excited to have the weekends together as a family.
Rick will be the IT Manager for a company called Design Imports and then after a couple of months will move into the role of Operations/IT Manager. He will be busy, but he's really looking forward to doing something different. He has always worked with motorcycles or retail of some sort--so this is a whole new world. He'll have a lot of opportunities for career growth with this company--something he's really happy about.
Our current babysitter has decided to take another job, working for a family with three children--with a two year committment, so we had to find a new babysitter and quick! Luckily (blessing!) our former babysitter will be able to pick up and start watching him again for us!
About the house--well, with having a new little one, we need a bigger place. We are on the hunt, but nothing has been decided yet. We'll see how Rick's commute goes before we commit to moving further south. I want to stay here in the Eastside SO BAD. I hope his commute is good, so we can stay in this area. :)
I am still telecommuting (thankfully), but my job could be dissolved--along with 90% of the department I service. Right now we're just waiting to hear what's going to happen. We are praying I can stay on until the baby is born--having benefits is just SO NICE. :) Ya know?

Harley Men

Rick has wanted to ride to Utah on a Harley for a while, so he decided he better while he had the chance (before baby #2 comes)! He rode down for a week and surprised everyone! He wanted to keep it a secret and just showed up at the Barnes' Family Reunion in Bear Lake. He was having so much fun surprising everyone. He decided to surprise his sister, Becky, who lives in Vernal, and rode down there with his best friend, Mike, for a day. My mom said when she heard the motorcycle pull up it made her think of when Rick and I were dating and she tought, "Who do I know that rides a motorcycle?"--then she saw is was Rick! Something about feeling like a rock star, huh, Rick? He got a kick out of suprising everyone.
Back here in WA, Mcayden and I went about our normal routine--work and play. We were happy when Rick got home (he surprised us--arriving a day early!).

We're Expecting!

We are pregnant! The baby is due March 23, 2008! We're really excited. Mcayden will be such a good big brother and it will be so fun having another little one. :) It was a big surprise and has taken a little time to sink in, but we are totally excited!

Day at the Zoo

We took Mcayden to the Seattle Zoo on Labor Day and had so much fun! It was the first time we had taken him and we were so excited for him to see the different animals. He had a lot of fun and especially liked the elephants and the kangaroos.
In the picture where he's kissing me, it was so cute---we were saying "smile! Look at Daddy" and he just gave me a big kiss on the cheek. :) He and Daddy played around a lot. He loves getting shoulder rides and holds onto Rick's hair or ears. They have so much fun playing around--plus he had a great view of everything from up there!
