In a Nutshell

My goodness a lot has happened since my last post!
I started an amazing job, that I love! (The same one I had posted about interviewing for.) I'm a Curriculum Designer and write curriculum for TiVo. It is a lot of fun and we LOVE having a TiVo. (Let me know if you want one, I can get you a HUGE discount! They are amazing!)

Rick and I had a "conversation" months ago where he said if he was home all day then everything would be done (i.e. laundry, dinner, clean house, happy kids, etc.) every day. Yes, he said EVERY. DAY. Well, now that he has been home with two little busy people, for over a month, he understands a bit more about how crazy it is and why the laundry piles up. Ah, it makes me smile. I am glad he understands a little more and I love that the kids have had this time with Daddy all to themselves.
Now that Spring is on it's way, Rick is ramping up to get his biz rollin'. He has a new commercial account and is excited to get going with the advertizing, etc.
We recently hired a nanny who will start watching the kids in April. She comes highly recommended and is so sweet. She's great--the kiddos are going to love her!
So there you have it. In a nutshell!

Saying Goodbye

Some good friends of ours recently moved away. Far away. A whole state away. These friends have been a big part of our life since we moved here. We spent practically all summer together last year and besides our kids being buds, we were close friends as parents. What's weird about the whole thing is that everything changed in our lives at the same time. We talked a lot about all the things that were changing--including our jobs. And for them, that meant moving to another state, to a new house and a new neighborhood.
We are really going to miss them this summer. We already do.

Sweet Valentine!

Breakfast is served...

Valentine's Day is a fun day at our house! This year our friend's kids were sleeping over the night before and asked what special thing we would be doing on Valentine's day. I hadn't even given it a first thought. But, I didn't want to disappoint them, so we whipped up a special heart-pancake breakfast. Yummy.
Later in the day, Addison and I made sugar cookies. She put on one of my aprons and we got mixin' and bakin'. As you can see, she loved it. She is quite the helper. I love that she wants to help me do things. She's especially enthusiastic about helping when it includes taste-testing!
Because we were watching our friend's kids on Valentine's Day Eve night, Rick and I officially rescheduled Valentine's Day for Monday night. Our friends watched our kids and we went on a hot date. Yeah, baby!

Mcayden's 4th Birthday!

Happy Birthday, Mcayden!
For Mcayden's 4th birthday, we invited a bunch of his friends to his party, at Bounce!, (a super-fun inflatable playground). We have some really great friends (we love you guys) and it was so much fun celebrating M's birthday with them! Mcayden had such a great time and you could tell he felt like the very special birthday boy he is!

Not Much to Say

I haven't been blogging much lately. I feel like I haven't had much to say.
Life has been busy, as usual. I have been interviewing for a great job. Just had my fourth interview today and should know by the end of the week.
The kids are doing great. Mcayden loves preschool and I love seeing his cute art projects and hearing him singing new songs. Today he talked a lot about Jesus Christ (on the way to school)and asked me a million questions. I feel blessed to know enough that I could answer most of them. I'm glad I grew up with religion in my life and that my kids know there is a God watching over them.
Addison is talking more and more. She also sings the alphabet song and "E-I-E-I-O" daily. I adore hearing her sweet voice. She is so awesome.
Rick has been doing a lot of work for our friend who is a realestate agent. He has been working on the yards and the remodels. He has been keeping very busy.
Every day we take care of our friend's dog and cat-- the kids just love them. Addison used to be a little afraid of the dog, but she's getting much more comfortable with her. She is one of the sweetest dogs ever.
Rick and I are going on a late date tonight, so I have to run. I'll let you know about the job!

Why I'm Tired

I called my mom the other day and left her a message, telling her why I'm so tired. Having young, busy, talkative kids is a big culprit.
Here is an example of how one of the many conversations with my little "almost four-year old" goes.
me: Oh no, I lost my earring!
M: You lost your earring?
me: Yes. (sigh)
M:Where is it?
me: I don't know, it fell out somewhere
M: Where?
me: I don't know
M: Is it lost?
me: Yes.
M:When it fell out it got lost?
me: Yep. It got lost.
M:Can you find it?
me: I don't think so. It must have fallen out in one of the stores we went to today.
M: It fell out in one of the stores? That's why it's lost?
me: Yep.
M: What store is it lost in?
me: I don't know. That's why it's lost.
M: It's lost in the store?....

This conversation makes me tired just typing it up! Are you feeling tired too?
Just one small example of many question/answer sessions we have each day.
